In 1970 UT Press published a picture book of UT’s first 175 years. Its title was Scholars and Scamps: The University in Pictures, 1794–1970. Neal and Margaret O’Steen were editors.

Scholars Bowl

In 1985 UT instituted an annual high school scholars bowl as a recruiting tool for UT. The program was discontinued in the early 1990s.
