In 1996 the Tennessee Presidents Trust published a videotape and accompanying teachers’ guide. In the video the three US presidents from Tennessee tell their stories in words taken from actual speeches. The video and study guide for teachers were funded by First Tennessee Bank in celebration of the state’s bicentennial.

Vol Challenge is an annual, fall semester activity of All-Campus Events, through which groups of at least four students provide volunteer service to organizations and agencies in the Knoxville area. The program was begun in 1992.

UT and Host Communications announced in July 2007 that Knoxville’s CBS affiliate, WVLT Volunteer TV, had been awarded a 10-year contract, replacing WBIR as the official East Tennessee outlet for the Vol Network effective for the 2007–8 season. WBIR had been the Vol Network flagship television station for University of Tennessee sports for 16 years.
