McClung Museum—Object of the Month

In June 1985 the McClung Museum began displaying an item from its collection as an “object of the month.” The first object displayed was a silver tilting water cooler, c. 1875, used to cool drinking water.

McClure Scholarships

Wallace McClure and trustees of the William Kyle McClure Foundation established the W. K. McClure Fund for the Study of World Affairs in 1968. The foundation provides 15 to 20 scholarships annually to allow students to study abroad.

McCord Hall

Named for Jim Nance McCord (1879–1968), who served as governor of Tennessee from 1945 to 1949, the principal structure of the two-facility dairy unit was completed in 1949 at a cost of $600,000.
