The Brian N. Conley Young Writers Institute, an academic outreach activity of the Department of English, began in 1993. Each summer, it brings to the campus middle and high school students and teachers interested in improving their writing skills or the teaching and evaluation of students’ writing skills. Because of an endowment provided by UT alumnus Brian N. Conley, there is no charge to participants in the program.
