UT art professor Philip Livingston participated in an international competition in which each artist submitted proposals or ideas for sculpture to be located on the World’s Fair site. Livingston was notified in September 1981 that he had been selected to prepare a sculpture, which had to be completed by October 19. The painted steel 45-foot wide and 25-foot tall sculpture stood next to the Mexican Pavilion on the World’s Fair site. It was entitled Mountains, Clouds, Winds, and Water.
