In 1945 the executive council of the UT Alumni Association invited alumni to send to the university their war trophies and memorabilia for display in a World War II Alumni Museum. The collections were placed into a museum located in West Strong Hall (the Cowan/Briscoe House). The collections are now part of the holdings of the Frank H. McClung Museum.
