The university completed purchase of the 150-unit Country Club Apartments in 1963. The apartments, renamed Woodlawn Apartments, were bought furnished for $1.3 million. The 15-acre complex included a swimming pool and tennis courts. The complex was purchased from Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Averbuch and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Pargh of Nashville. The decision to sell the apartments was made in December 2001 because the university owned significantly more apartments than were needed by students. The complex was sold in 2003.
