VolXpress, announced in December 1994 and implemented in April 1995 for summer 1995 sessions, provided a consolidated billing and statement system, allowing students to pay all fees (and fines) by mail. The combined VolXpress statement showed fees, holds, financial aid, and class schedules and gave deferred payment plan and address information. The system replaced the long-standing necessity of coming to campus and standing in line to pay.
Effective with the Spring 2009 Miniterm, the Bursar’s Office changed to sending only electronic VolXpress statements, a change which had been considered since 2005 as a cost-saving, time-saving, and tree-saving improvement.
