In fall 2009 the College of Veterinary Medicine opened a Small Animal Community Practice for UT students, employees, and retirees. Unlike the College’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital specialty services, the community practice does not require a veterinary referral and can serve as the client’s regular veterinary clinic. Fourth year students, under the guidance of faculty members, provide primary care for dogs and cats.
