UT Queen, owned by the UT Farm, was a prize-winning hen of the state of Tennessee in 1927. She began her career as a professional layer on November 26, 1926, at the age of seven months. UT Queen bested the previous record of 302 eggs laid in a 12-month period in 1926 by a hen also owned by the UT Farm. Queen had laid 318 eggs by November 18, 1927. The state average at the time was 55 eggs per year.
