The UT Federal Credit Union began operating on May 15, 1969. About one hundred UT employees joined in the first year, and the entity had $10,000 in deposits. It was first located on the second floor of a former residence on Andy Holt Avenue, a location in which it stayed for 15 years, before moving to a White Avenue location.
