The route of the escort van service was extended into Fort Sanders in May 1992, following a concentrated student campaign, led by Daniel Carter, student chairman of the Campus Safety Committee. The committee compiled lists of crimes, street by street, and identified undesignated funds in the Traffic and Parking Authority’s budget to achieve the goal.
