Clarence Saxby Chambliss earned the JD degree from the UT College of Law in 1968. (He had earned the bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Georgia in 1966.) He became a United States Representative and Senator from Georgia. He was elected as a Republican to the House of Representatives for the 104th and the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1995–January 3, 2003). He was elected as a Republican to the US Senate in 2002 and reelected in 2008 for a term ending January 3, 2015.
