The UT Rifle Club was organized on October 17, 1916, as a branch club of the National Rifle Association. An indoor shooting gallery was established on the third floor of West College for use by the popular club. The rifle range was moved to the gun room in Reese Hall following the razing of West College. The new range opened on December 1, 1921.
