The Athletics Department implemented a program of rewarding students for attendance at athletics events in August 2008. The goal of the program was to increase student turnout by providing incentives for showing up for games. Participating students registered their student ID cards with the Athletics Department’s Marketing Department. Students who attended varsity sporting events designated as a Rewards Game then scanned their student ID at the marketing table to record attendance and earn points. The gifts students could win became better as more events were attended.
