Defensive tackle on the UT football team from 1980 to 1983 and captain of the 1983 team, Reggie White was inducted into the National Football Foundation’s Hall of Fame, Division 1-A in 2002, the 18th Tennessee Vol to be inducted. A minister, he earned the nickname “Minister of Defense” while playing at Tennessee. He was All-America and All-SEC in 1983. He played professionally for the Memphis Showboats of the USFL (1984–85), the Philadelphia Eagles (1985–92), and the Green Bay Packers (1993–98). He led the Packers to a win in the 1998 Super Bowl. In 1999 he played with the Carolina Panthers. His UT number was retired in 2005. He was elected to the Professional Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
