In October 2002 the Pryor Bacon Offensive Staff Meeting Room in Neyland-Thompson Sports Center was dedicated. It honors Pryor E. Bacon, a 1940 graduate who was halfback on Tennessee football teams in 1937, 1938, and 1939. He was a longtime athletics board member and donor. Bacon’s nephew, Charles Coffin (’76) of Atlanta, a student-trainer in basketball during his undergraduate days at UT, his wife, Ann, and their children, Allie and Parker, made a gift to the STEP UP campaign that resulted in the naming of the meeting room.
