In commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the United States Bicentennial, Chancellor Jack Reese invited students, faculty, and friends of the university to keep a diary for one week in the spring. The diaries were to focus upon university-related activities. The diaries were collected and sent to the Special Collections Library to be kept intact until the year 2000.
