The basketball recruiting lounge in the Pratt Pavilion was named for former Vol Chris Lofton in December 2009. Four donors—Jerry and Nancy Fortner of Greeneville and Brian and Craig Nelson of Knoxville—made gifts to the Campaign for Tennessee Basketball in honor of Lofton to name the Chris Lofton Recruiting Room. A three-time All-America performer at shooting guard, Lofton (2005–8) finished his career as the Southeastern Conference’s all-time three-point king. His 431 career three-pointers ranked third in NCAA history. Lofton ended his career as UT’s record holder for three-pointers made and attempted in a game, season, and career. During Lofton’s senior season, he underwent radiation treatments for testicular cancer, and his quiet fight against cancer was the inspiration for the highly successful OUTLIVE campaign.
