Phi Kappa Tau established a colony on the UT campus in fall 1968 and was chartered as the Delta Kappa Chapter at UT on January 23, 1971. The colors of the fraternity are Harvard Red (PMS 201) and Old Gold (metallic gold). Its flower is the red carnation. The national organization was founded in 1906 at Miami University as the Non-Fraternity Association. In 1909 the name Phrenecon Association was adopted, and in 1913 the association changed its name to Phi Kappa Tau. The philanthropy of the national organization is Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Camps. Among the notable alumni of the national organization are Paul Newman, Nick Davatzes, Mitch McConnell, and Frank Rudy.
