The College of Business’s Physician Executive MBA program began in January 1998 under the direction of Professor of Management Mike Stahl. The program was designed to be 60 percent Internet-based, with students completing four weeks of onsite residency as well. UT’s program was the first in the country to employ this type of Internet teaching directed to a specific profession, and it received a number of awards for the cutting-edge concept and design of the PEMBA program, which united physicians all over the country into one “class.”
