Crime Statistics Reporting (Safe Campuses Reporting Act of 1993)

Governor Ned Ray McWherter signed the act into law on May 17, 1993, to become effective January 1, 1994. Colleges and universities were required to keep a daily log of crimes on campus, and the TBI was required to provide summary statistics of crimes against students—on campus or off campus.
