Dr. John Staley Jr.’s contribution to the Athletics Department’s STEP UP Campaign for athletics facilities resulted in the July 2003 naming of the assistant coaches’ waiting area in Neyland Thompson for him and his family. Staley is a 1974 graduate in zoology and psychology and a 1980 UT Medical Center alum.

Dr. Stansbury joined the faculty of the College of Engineering in 1947. He was designated Alumni Distinguished Service Professor in 1962. He retired from the faculty in 1984.
