Science Forum

The University of Tennessee Science Forum was founded in 1933 as the Knoxville Science Club. Its purpose is to keep members of the university community aware of advances in science, engineering, and medicine. It meets regularly for a forty-minute presentation followed by a question and answer session, and the presentations are geared for the public.

Science/Engineering Research Facility—Time Capsule

The College of Engineering prepared and installed in 1997 a time capsule in the Science/Engineering Building. The plan was that the capsule would be opened every 25 years, analyzed, and written about. The time capsule would then be restocked and replaced.
