Kelley, George

George Kelley served as the second head football coach at UT in 1901, compiling a record of 3-3-2. He replaced J. A. Pierce, the initial occupant of the newly created position. Before coaching at Tennessee, he played football at Princeton.

Kelly, Alexander

Alexander Kelly, a Revolutionary War soldier, who was a member of the Territorial Assembly that chartered Blount College, was named in the charter of the proposed institution as one of its first trustees. He was lieutenant colonel of the Knox County Militia, a resident of Blount County, and served in the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Kelly, Scott J.

NASA astronaut Scott Kelly (lieutenant commander, USN), earned the MS in aviation systems at UTSI in 1996. He was the pilot aboard STS-103 Discovery (December 19–27, 1999). The Discovery’s crew successfully installed new instruments and upgraded systems on the Hubble Space Telescope.
