Ford, Gerald—College of Business Lecture, 1985

Former US President Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. (president, 1974–77), delivered the MBA Symposium Lecture on October 16, 1985, in which he discussed the national business climate. The lecture was held in the Clarence Brown Theatre. He additionally visited an MBA class during his Oct. 15–16 visit.

Foreign Language Instruction

The curriculum adopted by East Tennessee College on May 9, 1829, included, in the senior year, coursework in Hebrew or French Language, at the option of the student. The 1840 catalog listed the senior year options as Hebrew, Spanish, and civil engineering.
