Delta Upsilon Fraternity (Inactive, 1995)

Delta Upsilon colonized at UT on September 16, 1967, and was fully chartered on May 16, 1969. The national organization was founded at Williams College in 1834 as the first nonsecret society. The colors of Delta Upsilon are old gold and sapphire, and the motto is Justice, Our Foundation.

Delta Zeta Sorority

The Beta Lambda Chapter of Delta Zeta was established at UT in 1933 when members of Alpha Theta local sorority were taken into Delta Zeta to form a chapter at UT. Demerits

The faculty introduced a system of demerits in 1869. At first, thirty demerits awarded by the faculty were sufficient to remove a student from the university, with the number being increased to one hundred in 1872. The practice was discontinued in the late 1870s.
