In the late ’70s and early ’80s, Park Overall attended UT in the theatre program. After attending UT as a freshman, she transferred to Tusculum College in her hometown of Greeneville, where she received the baccalaureate degree. She returned to UT as a graduate student but did not complete a degree. Her first professional role was as Becky Lou in the Hartford Stage Company’s production of Sam Shepard’s The Tooth of Crime. She made her Broadway debut in Biloxi Blues as Rowena and played the same part in the movie. Her movie credits include Mississippi Burning, Tainted, Talk Radio, Sparkler, The Gambler Returns: Luck of the Draw, The Stars Fell on Henrietta, Precious Victims, and House of Cards. For five seasons, she played nurse Laverne Higby Todd Kane in the television series Empty Nest and has also appeared on Ladies’ Man and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. In 1993 she was named Miss Outlaw Biker, and she loves to skate and play pool. She was a leader in the fight to have Champion Paper Company cease polluting the Pigeon River.
