One Stop Center

The One Stop Express Student Services Center in Hodges Library opened in June 2013. The $650,000 center was designed as an express service center, combining functions of the bursar, registrar, and financial aid offices to eliminate red tape and the need for students to visit multiple offices. The One Stop operation was both virtual and physical.

As part of the transition to the streamlined processes, the three offices involved were reorganized, and nine positions were eliminated. The counselors employed for One Stop received a week of training at Walt Disney World, one of the top customer training programs in the country, and were cross-trained to be able to assist with the requirements of the various offices and other university processes.

UT took its clues for the center from the University of Minnesota’s center.
