Neyland Stadium—UT Logo at Open End

For many years, a location between the Alumni Memorial Building and Stadium Drive was painted with the intertwined UT logo for homecoming celebrations and other special events. In January 1966 the emblem was permanently set in orange and white concrete. Spectators without tickets could look into the stadium from the logo location—and many did. The logo was replaced by the erection of the north end zone stands in 1980.
