Neyland Stadium—Text Messaging for Assistance

At the 2010 season-opening football game (September 4) against UT at Martin, the Athletics Department initiated a fan text-messaging system to assist in providing quick response to incidents within the stadium. Developed in conjunction with In Stadium Solutions (ISS), the system allowed text messages to be made from a personal cell phone to “Vols” giving the issue and location of the incident. Stadium staff, security, or emergency personnel were then alerted to respond.
