The stadium’s lunchroom opened in 1939, and in 1950 Eva Spangler became the manager of the facility after being employed only one year. From 1950 until its closing in June 1970, with the decision not to continue to use the stadium for dormitory purposes (except in emergencies), Eva’s was a popular place. In the summer months, Eva took over as the training table cook. Upon leaving the stadium, she became head of the Hess Hall cafeteria staff.
