The stained glass window hanging inside Hodges Library on the ground level on Volunteer Boulevard was the gift of the class of 1995. Morna Livingston, an assistant professor in the School of Architecture, was commissioned to design the panel, and she worked on the design, which depicts Ayres Hall, for more than a year. The original desire was to remove some of the glass bricks to allow insertion of the window on the exterior of the building, but that proved too expensive. McCarty Holsaple McCarty, the architectural firm responsible for designing the John C. Hodges Library, began installation of the panel on December 18, 1995. The 6-foot by 12-foot panel was fully installed on January 5, 1996.
