In November 2005 the Athletics Department honored the LaPorte family of Elizabethton, Tennessee, and Houston, Texas, by naming the stadium at Tom Black Track LaPorte Stadium. The LaPorte family made substantial contributions to the Athletics Department’s Step Up campaign.
