Jenny McGrath graduated from UT in 1992 with a major in biomedical engineering. During her student-athlete days at UT, she was a 15-time All-American as a swimmer. She was the SEC champion in the 200-yard individual medley in 1990 and the 200-yard freestyle champion in 1990 and 1992. She was a three-time Academic All-SEC selection.
In 1992 she was awarded the SEC’s H. Boyd McWhorter Postgraduate Scholarship, given annually to the conference’s top female and male athletes. She graduated from the UT’s College of Medicine in Memphis in 1997 and completed her surgical residency in 2002. In addition to being a practicing surgeon, she serves on the clinical surgical faculty at the University of Tennessee Memphis.
