Howard Baker Jr. had given directions that his antique car collection of six vehicles be sold following his death with the proceeds going to the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy. He had lain in repose in the Baker Center Building, just feet away from which the March 14, 2015, auction was conducted by alumnus Sam Furrow of Furrow Auction. The six cars sold for a total of $314,050. Cars and their auction prices included a 1951 Hudson Hornet at $93,500; a 1937 Cord 812 at $75,900; a 1941 Lincoln Continental at $50,600; a 1963 Lincoln Continental at $41,250; a 1951 Studebaker Champion G10 at $18,700; and a 1962 Ford Galaxie at $34,100.
