The Hollingsworth Auditorium in Ellington Plant Sciences Building was named in honor of Henry Wheeler Hollingsworth (1906–98) of Jacksboro, who made a $5 million gift to UT in 1996 benefiting the Institute of Agriculture and Women’s Intercollegiate Athletics. Hollingsworth was the founder of the LaFollette Development Corporation, a founder of First Federal Savings and Loan, a director of First National Bank, and owner/operator of LaFollette Hardware and Lumber Company for 50 years. He also established Lafollette Real Estate and was a charter member of Campbell County’s Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce.
