In June 1985 local authorities learned of a bogus driver’s license ring operating at UT and being run by UT students. Up to two hundred driver’s licenses were manufactured by three students in the Reese Hall dormitory room of Thomas Wayne Hodge, a freshman in business. Hodge and Paul Reyes, a freshman in architecture, were arrested. The fake licenses were sold for $20 to $35 each, mostly to other students desiring proof of legal age for drinking.
