Football Coaches Killed in Car Wreck

In 1965 Bill Majors (age 26), who had been a standout tailback in 1958–60, and end coach Bob Jones (age 30) were killed instantly when a passenger train hit the car in which they and offensive line coach Charlie Rash were riding to work. Rash died four days later.
