In 1991 University Studies 1000 (now First Year Studies 101: The UT Experience) was transferred as a one-credit course from the University Studies Program to what is now the Student Success Center, forming the nucleus of introduction to the institution and personal growth as a college student for entering freshmen. A companion course, First Year Studies 129, focusing on a topic of interest to the presenting faculty member, was added in 2006. Introductory courses to colleges (e.g., Business Administration and Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources), as well as a section limited to University Honors participants, were additionally created.
