Markus Woelfel was one of the three recipients of the Portz Scholars Award in 1997 for his senior honors project “The War of Ink and the Internet: The Zapista Rebels in Mexico and the Electronic Revolution.” Three Portz Scholars are annually named by the National Collegiate Honors Council from among all United States undergraduate honors programs. Laura Stephens was the second scholar from UT, in 1999.
