In 1909 the UT Baseball Team, under the direction of Coach Frank Moffett, won all its league games and claimed the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship. In 1914 the football team, coached by Zora G. Clevenger and Miller Pontius, were 9-0 and became the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association champions. (The highlight of the 1914 football season was the win over Vanderbilt [16-14, at Vanderbilt] and was UT’s first win over the Nashville university in 13 tries.)
