The FarmHouse Club was organized at UT on February 1, 1957, for the purpose of becoming a chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity. The group petitioned the Inter-Fraternity Council for permission to affiliate with the national in 1958 but was refused. The group then petitioned the Administrative Council and was approved. The group received a charter on November 7, 1959, the 18th chapter of the national. Wayne Smith served as the first president of the chapter. FarmHouse was founded in 1905 when three men in a University of Missouri YMCA Bible class decided to organize a club, rent a house, and live together. The colors of FarmHouse are green, gold, and white. The flower is the sunburst rose. Among the notable alumni of FarmHouse are Pat Green, Steven Gass, John Litz, and George Beadle.
