Founded at the University of Illinois in 1904, Eta Kappa Nu is the national Electrical Engineering Honorary Society, recognizing distinguished performance both in the profession and in college. The society draws its membership from students in the upper quarter of the junior class, or the upper third of the senior class, in electrical or computer engineering. The Tennessee chapter is the Beta Phi Chapter.
