Twelve electric vehicle-charging stations were ready for use by members of the university community and the public in October 2012. Six were located on the agriculture campus, near the intersection of E. J. Chapman Drive and Jacob Street, and six were located in staff lot S23, south of Temple Hall, near the intersection of Pat Head Summitt Street and Andy Holt Avenue. The chargers are part of the Electrical Vehicles Project, a partnership between ECOtality, General Motors, and Nissan North America to locate about fifteen thousand charging stations across the country.
