David Keith received his bachelor’s degree from UT in June of 1985, a decade after leaving UT to establish an acting career. One of Keith’s last roles at UT was a small role as a spear carrier in Macbeth, which starred Anthony Quayle. His first movie role was in The Rose, with Bette Midler. In 1982 he received a Golden Globe nomination for his role in An Officer and a Gentleman, and he had the lead role in 1983 in Lords of Discipline. He has also been in The Great Santini, Brubaker, The Two Jakes, and Major League II. He has directed films—The Curse and The Further Adventures of Tennessee Buck. Keith has had a number of TV roles, including playing Oliver North in Guts and Glory.
