At the board of trustees’ meeting on April 13, 1970, President-elect Edward Boling announced his formation of two groups—one composed of students from throughout the UT system and one composed of faculty from all campuses. Each group had 15 members and was to meet at least once a quarter to advise the president. The first meetings of the groups were held April 27–28, 1970.
