The UT Cotillion Club was formed by the men’s Pan-Hellenic Council on September 27, 1919. The club headquarters was at Whittle Springs Hotel. Dances were given at Whittle Springs each Saturday night for the benefit of members of the club. Members of the club were entitled to free use of the golf links and were provided a 50 percent reduction in the price of admission to the Whittle Springs swimming pool. Membership cards were issued for one month at a time. Prior to the formation of the club, dances were held on Saturday nights at the Lyceum Building (corner of Walnut and Cumberland Avenue) under the auspices of university students.
