The clock tower adjacent to the Joe Johnson-John Ward Pedestrian Mall was a gift of the graduating seniors of fall 1992 and spring 1993. A groundbreaking was held February 24, 1993, and the contractor, Webb and Sons, completed the tower in May. The designer of the tower was Doug McCarty. The tower was relocated slightly in order to allow completion of the Pedestrian Mall.
