In 1927 the All Students’ Club organized a pep organization called the Cherokee Tribe. Special orange and white headdresses were worn by the group that sat together at football games in the middle of the student section in seats that formed a T. The tribe also had large orange and white handkerchiefs. In 1928 the cost of membership was seventy-five cents, which covered the cost of a hat and kerchief.
